Round Table membership is an exclusive honor that is achieved only by a small percentage of all life insurance and financial services advisors worldwide. About the Foundation Mission Statement The mission of MDRT Foundation is to increase member participation and to give funds to worthwhile charitable organizations throughout the world. Vision Statement The vision of the MDRT Foundation is to be the premier charitable foundation involving all members and improving the quality of life for those in need. • Building playgrounds where few children feel like laughing or smiling. • Providing emergency assistance to aid families enduring the unimaginable. • Bringing new hope to cancer patients through leading edge research. • Making the wishes of terminally ill children come true. These are a few activities of the MDRT Foundation. The MDRT Foundation is the philanthropic arm of the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT), The Premier Association of Financial Professionals. The MDRT Foundation showcases the generous and caring spirit of MDRT members, which raises the integrity of the entire life insurance profession to a whole new level. Since its formation in 1959, the MDRT Foundation has granted $17.6 million to charitable organizations serving people in 67 countries and all 50 states. Starting in 2003, thanks to the Million Dollar Promise Appeal, the MDRT Foundation will give out at least $1 million in grants a year. Make the most of your philanthropy The MDRT Foundation provides a vehicle for MDRT members and others in the industry to combine their philanthropic activities with their fellow professionals. This pooling of resources provides great benefits to people in need. Instead of giving out small gifts that are not enough to promote significant change, the MDRT Foundation chooses to make meaningful grants to a few organizations at a time that will have a huge impact on the quality of life of the people served. In this way, encouraging charitable MDRT members to come together to support the most deserving organizations around the world makes more of a difference than just individual philanthropy. Grant distribution is member driven The grants given by the MDRT Foundation are distributed to organizations in which members have a vested interest. All grant recipients have either been endorsed by an MDRT member or are receiving money in honor of a member’s high level of involvement. MDRT Foundation contributors can rest assured that while it may not happen right away, at some point their individual contribution is likely to be transformed into a large grant through the collective efforts of MDRT Foundation supporters. Furthermore, the Grants Committee, who makes final recommendations for grant approval, is made up of a group of MDRT members. Grants impact MDRT’s entire global community In recognition of MDRT’s growing and diverse international membership, the MDRT Foundation also distributes grants in communities throughout the world.
